We're gonna have to give the guy a chance...

Because we've got no choice...let's see how it goes...ever think something isn't gonna work out and it does? This might be the case...the country isn't in such good shape right now...to me it can only get better...it didn't really matter much to me who won...aside form the fact I won't get to see Sara as much....

I agree that we have to give him a chance. What choice do we have???

The Dems have full control now, I hope things get better, but I have my doubts.

I saw an interview on Fox news with a young lady at the McCain headquarter stating that "she can't wait to see them fall on their faces". In my opinion this is a terrible way to look at it.

It's over.... He is our new president. Do we want things to get worse??? I know that I sure don't.

What we need to do as a country is move foward and not get caught up in the chicken little way of thinking.

Keeping my fingers crossed and my money under the bed

Oh... and WTF.... NC for Obama??? I knew NJ had no chance (I did vote anyway) but NC? Holy Crap!!!!

"His [Obama's] success alone commands my respect for his ability and perseverance. … Senator Obama and I have had and argued our differences, and he has prevailed. No doubt many of those differences remain... And I pledge to him tonight to do all in my power to help him lead us through the many challenges we face.. . . I urge all Americans who supported me to join me in not just congratulating him, but offering our next president our good will and earnest effort to find ways to come together to find the necessary compromises to bridge our differences and help restore our prosperity, defend our security in a dangerous world, and leave our children and grandchildren a stronger, better country than we inherited... It's natural, tonight, to feel some disappointment. But tomorrow, we must move beyond it and work together to get our country moving again."

Very well said as no other than this American Hero could.... Now is the time for us all to pull together and support our new government, not try to pull us apart.

I'm sorry...but I am not that optimistic.... there's NO WAY he'll deliver on 10% of what he promised and as a small business owner he has me in his sights to take away the little profit I do make and give it to someone who does not work...and I get to keep working 10-12 hours a day. I was going to hire a new guy in 2009..... what do you think I'm going to do now??

My glasses are not rose colored...they're colored in reality...let's revisit this thread in a couple years...

    Predictions:

    1) Dems will cut significantly cut defense spending, leaving our military incredibly weak (ala Clinton), inviting threats and attacks on our interests around the world. This will leave a great mess for the next president to clean up.

    2) Dems will increase spending on global warming BS. Though they allowed the offshore oil drilling moratorium to lapse, they will do nothing to alleviate the litigation hurdles that will prevent any progress on offshore drilling. They simply let the moratorium lapse so that it would not be something that could be used against them in the election. Now that they have control, Boxer and Pelosi will push anew for global warming issues.

    3) Dems will increase taxes to pay for our government's drunken spending habits.

    4) Pelosi will upgrade her travel from a Boeing 737 to a Boeing 777, while insisting her carbon foot print will be smaller.

    STUPIDITY ?

This is ridiculous. A man who has never achieved anything in government, would not respect the AMERICAN FLAG, has numerous ties to terrorists, and was a loyal member of a radical anti- american religious cult, did different kinds of drugs and who's wife is not even proud to be from this country, is now the PRESIDENT OF THE U.S.A. Are you F%$INg kidding me. He is not even a citizen. His aunt is here illegally. He will sit down and chat with every dictator that woul like nothing more than to destroy and kill every one of us. THE WORLD IS LAUGHING AT JUST HOW STUPID OUR COUNTRY IS RIGHT NOW. And he beat an a P.O.W veteran. It"s a sad, sad, day in America. FOOLS = WEAKNESS. I thought american's were smarter than this. This country is way to liberal for me anymore and it's making me sick. I guess now you can tell your kids they can do what ever they want and still become president.

Not too worried about higher taxes...

I am not too worried about higher taxes, but I would be if I were one of those oppressed middle class types looking to soak the rich. You see I work for myself. However, if you work for somebody I can see the boss paying for his tax increase by not giving out those Christmas bonuses, and BTW- next year's raise has just been canceled. LOL.

How stupid can the masses be. It never fails to amaze me. The check they get from the government will not even be close to the losts raises, bonuses, jobs, etc. What's that ole saying, "YOU DON"T BIGHT THE HAND THAT FEEDS!"
