Plasitc vs. Bait
Being new here I thought I would just lurk awhile and see what was going on, but what the heck, after reading this thread thought I would put my 2 cents in. I am still fairly new to offshore fishing (5)years, however I have found my best results have come on a combination of bait and plastic. My feelling is the plastic with the better color and action draw the fish to the spread, however it seems most of my strikes are on the bait. BTW I am north of the DMZ, Delmarva, did not even know we had that line. I like to run a ballyhoo both naked and skirted off the long riggers and plastics on the shorts down a little deeper, with a the obligatory green machine WWB down the middle behind a bird. My boat has outboards and my belief is they make more white water then inboards so I need to run the baits further back and deeper out of the wash for visibility. If I am not having any strikes I try to change up often, different colors, positions, heck I try anything when it slows down. I guess my point is, both plastics and bait have their place use and purpose. Use whatever works. I am looking forward to gaining more knowledge and understanding on here to catch more fish. Thanks guys
