    Weekend Weather? Jersey Coast

What are everyones thoughts on this weekends Weather. I am supposed to be bringing by new boat North this weekend, but am unsure of the Weather. The Boat is a 36 trojan and I am headed from Barnegat NJ to MA.... What are your thoughts would you go this weekend. or wouldyou wait.. Scattered showers possibely thunderstorms 30% wind 5-10 Seas 3-4?
This is for Friday and that would be the NJ to NYC leg?

    What would you do?

    Thanks

It's all in the direction of the wind.

It is forcast to blow out of the South so it will push you right up the coast.

If you stay tight to the beach there shouldn't be any problem if the forcast is correct. The coast angles in to the west once your North of BI so you will be somewhat in the lee as well.

I don't see it being any problem. Keep in mind that the forcast that your looking at is out to 20mi offshore....

    Good luck.

    Alternates

It is longer but if the weather is dicey maybe consider the East River and into Long Island Sound instead of offshore.

One thing to keep in mind when you get out Montauk way..... they tend to have a lot of fog there this time of the year. Make sure to get familiar with your radar (if you have it) while your in the clear so when you need to depend on it, you will know what your looking at.
