ARE WE CRAZY OR ARE THEY?

A FRIEND OF MINE CAME OVER TODAY TO BORROW A FEW TOOLS FOR A PROJECT, WHEN I OPENED THE GARAGE DOOR HE JUST STOOD THIER AND STARRED. I ASKED HIM WHAT WAS WRONG, HE SAID, MAN, YOU ARE CRAZY, YOU REALY LIKE TO FISH DON'T YOU. I SAID WHAT? HE SAID, I HAVE NEVER SEEN SO MUCH FISHING STUFF OUTSIDE OF WAL-MART. AFTER I GAVE HIM THE TOOLS HE NEEDED HE ASKED ME WHAT I WAS DOING TODAY. I TOLD HIM THAT I WAS GOING TO COMB OUT THE HAIR ON SOME PARACHUTE RIGS AND SHARPEN SOME HOOKS, MAYBE EVEN PUT SOME NEW LINE ON A REEL AND IF THERE IS ENOUGH TIME I MIGHT MAKE A NEW EEL BUCKET. HE JUST LOOKED AT ME AND SHOOK HIS HEAD. I SAID "WHAT", HE JUST TURNED AND WALKED DOWN THE DRIVEWAY. I NEED HELP!!! EVERYONE THINKS I'M CRAZY, ALL I THINK ABOUT IS FISHING. I READ BOOK'S ABOUT IT, I WATCH SHOWS ABOUT IT, I DREAM ABOUT IT (WHEN I CAN SLEEP), I SPEND COUNTLESS HOURS ON THE COMPUTER PULLING REPORTS, WHEN EVER I GO SHOPING EVERYTHING I LOOK AT, I ASSOCIATE WITH FISHING OR THE BOAT. WHERE CAN I FISH TODAY, I DON'T CARE IF IT IS OFFSHORE, INSHORE, POND FISHING. I JUST DON'T CARE, I'M LIKE A VAMPIRE THAT NEEDS BLOOD TO SURVIVE. WITH OUT FISHING WHAT WOULD THERE BE? I NEED THE COMFORT OF KNOWING THAT THERE ARE PEOPLE OUT THERE JUST LIKE ME. ARE THERE THERAPY GROUPS FOR PEOPLE LIKE US? WHAT IS THE CURE? IS THERE A CURE? WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN US AND HARD CORE DRUG ADDICTS? WE NEED TO STICK TOGETHER!!!

If I should you all my stuff you would crap yourself. I have so much inshore,offshore lake fishing everything. My family owns a seafood place that we also carry bait and tackle at. I've fishing since i was able to hold a rod , all I do is fish. I think I worked maybe 3 full weeks since may because of fishing. Trust me i'm in the same boat as you. In the winter I ice fish just so I can say I went fishing or go to florida just to pick up a few more months of fishing.

There is nothing wrong with that at all. Men and women need there toys.......... whats wrong with that. Youre fishing toys are like my need for purses and shoes........... lol

I'm in the same boat and have been for fifty years. Ever since my first time on a creek bank. Somewhere I think I still have that old rod and reel. Anyhow I've seen some with a worse affliction and I decided one time to count how many times I said fish or fishiing in one day. I can't remember how many times I said it,but I then realized I had a problem. I decided to quit talking so much about it and just go fishing more. Hope this Helps!

You think you got it bad...this is my time to guide for ducks. I am living in my temporary residence in Oriental NC and I have 18 rods in the living room, another 8 or is it 9 in the truck, boxes and boxes of tackle also in the living room and have much more in the truck. Yep, your NOT going fishing with out me! Now where did I put my shotgun?

I don't think you have a "problem." I mean I have rods in the living room, garage, game room, bedroom, and closet. Tackle spread all over the house. A fold up table in my bedroom where I make new rigs and lures. The entire house is decorated with fish paintings, posters, or nautical stuff. Ornaments on the X-Mas tree, you betcha, lighthouses and fishing ornaments. I would consider it an addiction, BUT atleast it is LEGAL!!!
