Jonathan Turley, as esteemed professor of law at Georgetown University wrote a terrific summary of how we have many of our freedoms and protections have eroded during the War on Terror. You can read it here:
http://www.washingtonpost.com/opinio...y.html?hpid=z3
But here's the list (Turley lists 10, I added another).
Extraordinary rendition
Continual monitoring of citizens
Immunity from judicial review
Secret court
War crimes
Secret evidence
Warrantless searches
Arbitrary justice
Indefinite detention
Assassination of U.S. citizens
Revocation of Habeus Corpus
To your eternal shame, most conservatives and now ever more often most Obamaites have remained mute about these losses. But particularly the conservatives deserve blame as they never cease to portray themselves as protectors of these freedom when they silently acquiesce to their loss.
Only the Libertarians have an unbesmerched record of their defense. I'm voting Paul.
