Waking Jimmy Buffet

We heard rumors that the illustrious Jimmy Buffet was in Hatteras a little while back.

The rumors were true, we had a charter one of the days he was in Hatteras and he even stayed in Hatteras Harbor.

He was in the Rod and Gun and my brother in law Kyle, helped him purchase some flies, even got the tour of the green tomato!

I guess we must have woken him up that morning going fishing.

Wish he would have gotten up and gone with us!

Very cool Jay, had a chance to take Jimmy fishing one day when he was playing at
Wilmington but he told me he had rather play golf... We did have a dlast picking with him after hours, something about going to bed as the sun comes up I will never understand...

His new Rybovich was docked at the South Side Marina in Rudee Inlet last Summer for a few days.I never saw Jimmy but heard it was his new Rybo.It wasnt the "Margaritavich "it was a much larger boat.

What is going on in your life that makes you act like such a caustic, negative person? It's gotta be something, because even I can see that somewhere in there is an intelligent, cool guy.

But lately, you seem to be always on the offensive. Jimmy Buffet is a basically nice guy. I see him as one of us, who hit all the lucky spots and made it big. He likes boating, sailing, fishing, flying...and he can write a nice song and play it. He's still a human being. He takes a crap every morning just like you do. He has to deal with what this fame has brought him. I don't even know if he still smokes pot, or not. I suspect he does. And that is so okay with me. Speaking for myself, I don't care. I would rather a pothead be in the oncoming lane on the road at night than I would an alcoholic. The pothead might be doing ten miles an hour under the speed limit and keeping it centered. The drunk somehow thinks he can handle it at 90 mph.

As for Jimmy Buffets life so far, it's kinda like skipping over the sand bars and looking back and seeing the sand puffs. He battled a lot of demons, and figured out that he needed to quit drinking a long time ago. He has brought a lot of enjoyment to a chitload of people. Can you say the same about your life?

Would the world be a better place without Jimmy Buffet? I don't think so. The man is real. Yeah, he's an "aging rocker" and all that. Age happens, amigo. hey, when your life gets on the downslope side of midway maybe you will understand it a little better....but in the meantime you might want to look at what it is that is making you so bitter. THAT, you can fix.

Need a break from NJ winter? You are obviously so better than what you have been 'contributing' lately.

My only issue with Jimmy Buffet is that he has done benefit concerts for the NRDC (Natural Resources Defense Council) which has consistently proven to be anti-fishing, including recreational fishing. So it is a bit ironic that he owns a nice sportfishing boat and fishes, yet supports an anti fishing organization.
