What kind of boat were you using. You have to use something that gets out of the hole QUICK.
I am to big to wake board so I use my surf board a long board and start out laying down and then pop up of of that.

Lee I will give it another try today,
if I feel to much pressure on the knees I will back off this sport in a hurry. So it is wide open then back off. Is 19 to 23 a good speed to play at? or faster?
j towne there is a 200 hp on the pull boat.

Around 20 is a good speed.
You have to gun the boat and then back off once you are standing up.
When you are in your starting position keep your knees bent all the way. once the board starts to turn then you stand up.

Try to hold the rope with one fist facing down toward the water and one facing up toward the sky, it gives you a better grip for getting out of the hole. You can switch once you get up. As for speed we always divided our weight by 10 then added 5, so if you were 200lbs we would go 25 mph. Oh and I would never straighten both legs, maybe the back, but I would always ride with both knees bent. So if you land hard you would just fall into the water, not put all that pressure into a knee or hip.

Crab mustard is good
Good Luck
Start with your knees bent and the board with the side along the surface of the water and straighten it out as you're pulled out of the water. Don't gun it too hard, have them push it where they would be able to get to full throttle in 3-4 seconds - but back off before you get there. Just don't back off too quick. 20-25 mph should work fine.

Man its been such a long time since i knee boarded but i used to do it all the time.
Im think i did what the guy said above turn side ways in the water and as the boat started to move we would turn towards the boat and come right up on top.

I can say this i loved knee boarding , then they came out with a skurfer i probably hacked the spelling but was like a surfboard snow board thingy and i about killed myself over and over and i was done .
