Wahoo help Boynton beach

I am new to the site. I have fished South Florida for a long time and never seriously targetted Wahoo. All Wahoo have been by-catch except one that spooled me fast trolling with inadequate tackle. I have set up a couple of reels with braid and bought some high speed lures and trolling weights. I know that this spring will be better for Wahoo than right now. What can I do to prepare for this spring?

My Son, WideOpen, just moved to Boynton Beach and has been fishing almost every weekend. He loves the area and has met-up with some good fisherman. They lost a Hoo fast trollin' last weekend, Shredded the Mono! He'll learn. Go get'em!

#32 old salty planer pulled off a cleat

How fast are you able to pull that planer from the cleat? The #32 planer is a large planer right?

5 or 6 knots. Rig it on 100 ft of 400# mono. Use a snap and rubberband for the fishing line.......
