john when I heard of this at 5:15 on NBC I all most sheet the pants. I hope all who watch that crap understand that the media is all about ratings and power. I also hope the fathers and mothers of young children do not allow the viewing of the nut case killer. God Help Us All. Not tits on TV. Bad Janet Jackson, but put this lunatic out there and admire his wicked warped spewing view on this screwed up life. NBC sucks ! I pray for the families of the fallen children of VT. NBC sucks !

Well i was working tonight and just got off, and just heard about what they played on NBC. For them to play what that psycho said on national television is just wrong in so many ways. Can someone tell me what they were thinking to play that?? He killed 30+ ppl and they are gave him publicity and airtime so the whole country can hear what he "felt", personally no one should give a crap about anything he has to say. Also AOL put his sick plays online, which to me was inappropreate and should not have been relesed. Also think of what people were feeling that went through the tragedy when they turned on their televions and heard him reading his letter.
What really burns me about newstations is that they play all the bad things goin on in our society. With the Va incident all they play is how many died and what the killer looked like, what they should be focusing on is the people that saved their friends, or teachers who stepped in the line of fire to keep thier students safe. But no they dont because all most people want to see is bad stuff so they have something to talk about the next day at work. Its really ashame that the news stations bring us the bad but never give the common man or woman any credit for the good they have done for the world.
NBC should not have played that letter, its Disgusting!

The young woman that lives beside my mother in law had her boyfriend killed in the attack. I cannot begin to imagine the added stress and pain that viewing those tapes will inflict upon her. I dont think they should be giving him the forum that he wanted at all and it pisses me off too. The questions that the media was asking both the campus police and the VT president the very day of the attack was totally insensitive and reckless media sensationalism.

I have mixed feelings about the Video. To me it has a lot more value than the parade of "Experts" and the debates of shoulda coulda wouldas that the media has been spewing.
I understand the revulsion and the point that his rants played into his plan
but at least the video is the real deal and not self appointed no-it-alls and talking heads grabing face time.

the media is the driving force in most that is wrong with this nation. yes, it is all about ratings, but we all know the feeling of "having" to look over at a crash or paying attention to the obscure happenings in our world. i agree, this sick being should not have gotten the air time. shame on NBC. but don't worry, this story too shall pass, only to be squelched by the next "item" that grabs our attention.
it's a crazy machine, this world...........and we're all products of it. good, bad, or indifferent.
p.s. - analyze technology and you will learn why we are where we are in this day and age. good, bad, or.........

Two words for NBC's airing of the killer's video; copy cats. Of course they will kill anybody for more ratings. NBC should be fired and taken off the air!

I completely agree that it is giving the wrong idea for any who would feel the way that he did. His videos may be apropreate for studying extreme cases of depression but that is all. One can obviously see how the cycle will continue as this killer refrenced the columbine kids as "martyrs". The media should have learned its lesson after that innocent, school shootings were almost unheard of until them, since shootings as well as bomb threats, assults deadly weapons, have all appeared in schools across the nation. Giving this kid publicity now is putting fuel on the fire

Keep the news on the victims families and how they're getting by,not making this idiot more famous. Next there's gonna be a TV movie about it. Just watch and see.
