I refused to watch it!!! Not that it's going to make one damned bit of difference. The sicko played the media and NBC gobbled it up for the sake of ratings. The responsible thing to do would have been for NBC to report that the sicko sent a dvd to NBC but that NBC decided that it was in the public's best interest not to air it. Is that what happened?? Hell no!! The almighty dollar drives all!!! NBC has made the sicko a hero and role model for other sickos. Just a matter of time now.. I'm not frequent poster, but this one got me going.. Sorry for the rant, Dave.

I agree with NBC's decision to air it. The entire nation, and most of the civilized world was asking, "WHY?" NBC had a big piece of the answer, and would have been irresponsible not to air it. (After law enforcement determined it wouldn't hurt their investigation.)

Off The Hook Bait and Tackle
This is why I like to get the majority of my news from websites like Drudge report, instead of tv, so I dont have to deal with the sensantionalism of news, all the majors had this story 24/7 just rehashing the grisly pics and the freaks video

Outcast1, first of all I absolutely respect your opinion, and to your point, "the world wanted to know why".... My question, and subsequently my point is..did you, and / or the rest of the world, get the answer that you were looking for? Were you looking for a logical answer? What did we, the general public, in addition to other sick kids who for whatever reason see themselves as "victims of the establishment" get from the airing of the video. My guess is that you, being a resonable person , influenced by logic, got confirmation that the shooter was an angry young man who viewed the world as his enemy, and that this was payback, his way of teaching us a lesson or something to that effect. Are we really any better off knowing that? Didn't we already know that? Are we any closer to stopping the insanity? I feel that the less visibility that we give these cowardly oucasts, the safer we'll all be.
My subsequent ranting is in no way meant to distract from the validity and credibilty of this most awsome fishing, rigging and blood splattering of a fishing board that this sight is intended to be... Very Respectfully , Dave

Colonel Angus, the graphic images aired provided much insight into the level of premeditation and planning involved. He didn't "just snap." It also provided many indications that this tragic chapter was over, closed. (There was no indication of involvement by anyone else.)
NBC aired only only a small portion of the material they had, and said that portion was "representative" of what they received. They didn't go for full saturation of the airwaves with all of it. They, and other networks, have subsequently decided to limit repeated broadcasts of the images, and I think that's appropriate. I'm very happy to bash the media on most occasions, just simply agree with them on this one.
