NJ Volvo S80 - Garden State Volvo

I am looking to purchase / Lease a 2007 Volvo S80 for my wife. I am located in central NJ - Freehold Area. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with this car. I went and looked at one at Garden State Volvo and was also wondering if anyone has dealt with this dealership. They were extremely friendly and professional. Very unusual for a car dealer. On a $40K car how much off of list would you expect? I am not sure how much mark-up is in a Volvo. Any input would be great.

    Thanks,

    Mickey

I can't help you with the S80 specifically, but I had a Volvo in the '80s and it was the biggest POS I've ever driven. From day we picked it up at the dealership I don't think that there was one day when everything worked at the same time on that car. However, with constant repairs it did go over 200,000 miles and it never left me stuck anywhere (although that was mostly luck, it hydro-locked in the driveway once.) And I walked away from four accidents too (No airbags either. Always wear your seatbelt!) #%#*& New York drivers!

Most people like them though, so my experience may be unusual, and it was a long time ago.

One thing I can tell you for sure is that Volvos are expensive to repair. Unless Ford has changed their price structure, the cost of Volvo parts is obscene. Something you may want to take into account in your purchase decision. Good luck.

My parents have had volvo's for years. They have owned 3 and one was a lemon from day one. The other 2 have gone over 200,000 miles.
