    VIDEO/Photo Question. . . help!

    Need a little help here. . .


    Whats the best way to capture a photo from video footage with it still looking good?

    Have some great shots, but cant seem to get tthem to look right.

    Unless you're looking for small size photos, you need to do a lot of work in photoshop. The resolution on most videos is waaay below what is required for still shot, so a frame grab will not produce a decent still.

    jp ,,,open movie maker....import the avi........drop the avi on the timeline..............pause where the pic will be copied............above the play button there is a save picture button.........give the save a location and name......preferably a jpg or what ever you work with ,,,,hope this helps .....flat

    Hey Mako. Here is a shot from a vid of your name sake.

    I agree that they are not as good as a still shot but if you save them before you render them to a WMV file, the quality is still reasonable.

    Save Video to Dvd then save Pic.

    If you can save video as DvD format and play it on your computer. Most DvD players that come installed on computers allow you to "grag a clip" usually it's the capture button.
    I find that this saves a good picture, plus you can save any frame from the whole video for great action shots.

    John- Capture it into your movie maker program. Then as you play it, there is a button to push and make still shots from it.
    Then save them to a file of your choice.
