Spent last week in the OBX with family. Took my 3 year old son Jack fishing for the first time with my little brother. Jack ended up reeling in and catching his first 7 fish ever. I don't know who was more excited, me or him. Ended the day with 7 fish caught, 2 peepee's from the dock, and 1,752 answers to the following question : "Where's the fish daddy?"

On the way home he told me "I love fishing and boats daddy!!"
I encouraged him to tell Mommy when he got home which he did.

some day your son will know the important lesson of 'life' ..spending time with his family, understanding how to make 'it' work no matter what he's up against because you cared enough to include him. Tight lines and many good days to ya...!

What a story. I have a little boy who is now 2 years and about 3 months old. Loves to go down to the boat with me. Loves the water, caught his first kingfish on the serf last week on the drive on beach. Looking forward to next year working on the croakers with him. Can't wait to get him offshore myself.Your son will always remember these trips with his dad. I remember all the trips with my dad, flounder fishing, taug trips, goose hunting trips, etc. Keep it up nice work capt.

just remember.... it was Uncle Corey who put him on his first "meat" fish, the flounder. All daddy could muster were pinfish!

but seriously, I was extremely honored to be a part of Jack's first fish ever. I can only hope that many many more years of "firsts" will come his way while out on the water....hopefully on my boat!
