    Used Car Purchase

So I bought my wife a new (used) vehicle last month...After a month has gone by, I have yet to receive the yearly registration sticker. I called the dealership and they tell me that the title transfer, and new sticker for the old plates exceeded the $250 that was included in the Sales Contract under Govt. Fees for Registration and License Tags..they say it was $160 more and are withholding the tag sticker until I pay.....Does that Make sense?? am I missing something her? The sales contract is the sales contract and them handling the title and transfer cant just be any number they come up with, right? In the past, I have paid the $250 and it was only $225 and the dealership sends you the diff...not sure why they would build in $250 into the contract if its going to be more...Thoughts?

Florida fees have gone way up. Went from $36 to $112 for registration over night. Not sure all what goes into titling doc changes and stuff but sure that went up too. For my daughters car in december though it would have been $385 actual cost but I transferred the tag and that saved a lot.

not sure fla laws, but in mass., I'd take em to small claims court, and include my day's pay for the day in court. Their the dealer and they should know those costs cold. Sounds like a company trying to squeeze dimes out of nickles.

I transferred the tag also but they that the florida fee tripled but with that said...a sales contract has all the numbers there for a reason...it wasn't an estimated cost but a fee on a line and that should stay fixed. I wrote them an email. Let's see where this goes but I'm down for a little small claims threat. Sick of getting the screws put to me.
