Just caught the highlights when I walked through the door from skating myself Fred. The one thing the US doesn't have that the Canadian team has is all the ego's in the locker room. Everyone needs their ice time, while the Americans just go out and play. Can't wait for the next game, GO USA.........![]()

We won that one with pure American hard work.

????? Did you watch the game?
Canada outshot the US 45 - 23...... they outplayed them for huge portions of the game. The difference was Miller and a couple bone-headed plays by Brodeur.
I wish we (Canada) would have won naturally, but it was pretty meaningless and the final tale will be told with a Gold medal!
Thankfully hockey is not a judged sport. Doesn't really matter what the shot count is - only what lands in the back of the net. The 1980 USA team had a similar shot disadvantage to the ruskies - but they made them count.
The game was meaningless in terms of the medal, but the US does get an extra day of rest. Canada seemed to be sucking a bit of wind late 2nd and 3rd...
Yeah, I agree with you on those points..... although it seems that an extra game for Canada might let them come together a little more as they become more comfortable with one another. Something the US could possibly use as well.
My comment was really made in response to your comment about it being hard work making the difference and I thought that the hard work was on the side of the Canadians with the exception of Miller!
We just need Bobby Clarke to skate over and break Millers leg with a slash like he did against the Kharlamov in 1972! Now that is good-old Canadian hard work and ingenuity for you!
It was a great win but I'm scared of the Canadian team. That win will just make them more hungry if they play again. Hopefully they won't make it past Russia in the next round.
god damit
We nearly had an all-out brawl erupt between the US and Canadian fans watching the game at Margaritas last night. Hockey is not taken lightly down here in Mexico!
Canada should have never given the reins to Brodeur after Luongo's start in Game 1.
Miller was a brick wall last night. Incredible hockey to watch, any way you slice it.
I'm headed back to Vancouver tomorrow to cheer the boys on for the rest of the tournament.
GO CANADA!!!
