Reelfishy...those are the same thing, except the only one he has for underwater is the stick cam, I don't think he would like me dropping it to 300ft. Does not look like there is enough cable for that anyway.
As far as downrigger cams its not the same as an outrigger. I am running 15lb balls at 100-200+ feet at 1.5-3mph, the downrigger is the winch used to get it up and down... Little different setup

Call or email Latham, they have a drop cam and troll cam. I have used them before.

    From www.lathamcams.com...
"Can we use the Stick camera as a drop camera?
No, the Stick camera was only made to go down about 15 to 20 feet. We also sell drop cameras."

"Can we use the Stick camera for trolling?
No, the stick camera was not made for trolling. If you are interested, we do sell trolling cameras."

cool, still have a cable to deal with though and that is the whole crux of the problem, the video cable has to be attached to the downrigger cable every few feet and every time I bring the downrigger up I have to detach all the clips and deal with the slack....
Trust me it really is a pain. As I said before I am working on a better mousetrap. I was pretty sick all this last summer and fall but I am over it for now and aching to get back to it!

Good luck with your quest. The light required to shoot at 200'-300' is going to need quite a bit of battery power. Problem with compact underwater video lights is they don't penetrate very far. Don't forget a filter! You can't use an auto focus camera so your bait will need to be positioned in the light throw and focal length. Next is the medium you will be recording on, is it compact enough to troll? Don't pick a medium that deals in high compression rates, that and low light footage look terrible. Final problem is if you do not have a cable running to the surface there is no way to verify what type of footage you are acquiring. Look at my occupations and you can probably guess how I know a little bit about what you are trying to do. It's hard enough to balance a troll cam at 3kts let alone a larger system. I will not give out some of my proprietary equipment but can tell you to ditch using the downrigger and build a dedicated device to deploy and retrieve your system.
