    Underwater lighting

I am putting underwater lights on my Bertam 31. For attracting bait while chunking in the dark, the plan was to put 4 across the transom +/- 1 ft below waterline. Does anyone have an opinion on whether or not it is useful to have 2 in the bottom shooting down? My second option would be to shoot 2 down and 2 aft.

I'd go two down and two aft persoanlly. The aft ones look nice and keep fish behind the boat, but ones facing down will draw fish up from deeper depths. Not all models can be ran straight down, you'd have to check with the manufacturer to see what models can but I know it can be done. What color are you going with? Blue and green seem to be the best fish attractant colors, blue would be my pick. It is easier on the eyes and I've had more luck with blue personally on boats I've fished.
