Ugliest Ever.......late 90's Ocean 40 express?

Just trying to start a friendly discussion about what everyone feels is the fugliest sportfisher ever. My pick, the 1999-2000 Ocean 40' express. If boats are female this is clearly the exception. I'd call this one a "bull" check out the forehead, thank god Ocean put a gaff in it as quickly as they did . If this is your boat, I apologize but man these boats make me cringe.

I recall seeing an ocean 40 down in Chincoteague and hearing that the guys who ran it loved the boat because it had a high helm deck for an express and gave great visibility while maintaining fast cockpit access. At least while you are on an ugly boat you don't have to look at it's profile.

Personally I think that Carver consistently turns out some of the ugliest boats afloat. While not a sportfisher I humbly submit the following specimen for your review.

The 40 Ocean Express isn't the best looking boat out there but I like the 2nd stateroom under the helm. Guess the top heavy look is the trade off. Looks a little better with a tower. Not to derail but does anyone have any personal experience on the Ocean Express? Haven't heard much positive.

if we are talking about ships in general i would have to agree that carver butchers the basic lines that make boats beautiful.

That brings back memories. My college roomate freshman year was a Carver nut and plastered his side of the room with posters. Every time I had a few beers I would pull'em down, but he always had more

I fish on a 40 ocean express quite often. I will agree about the apperance not being all there. But the lay out on the boat is by far the best in its size class. Huge cabin, tons of storage through out the whole boat, huge cockpit with giant fish storage, HUGE helm with tons of seating.
On the 40 ocean express, Ocean thought of it all top to bottom.
The boat raises fish like no other.

The only complaint i have about the boat is it rides like an Ocean yacht.
