    Truck exhaust

I have a 98' Dodge ram and I want to make it sound good Ive looked at flowmasters mainly. My question is do I need just a new muffler or do I need a complete exhaust kit (duel Exhaust) or both?

    Thanks for any help

Flow masters are good theres many brands out there I always went with flows masters. The best sound i got out of them was "dumping" just behind the cab. But that does make for more cabin noise tho, go faurther back with the "dump" and the noise shouldnt be that bad. Headers are also good for sound and gives your truck more torque

i wouldnt waste my money on duel exhaust....i would just do cat back.....after the cat split them and put flowmasters on it....sounds great.....or if u wna go all out put headers on it and run duel exhaust buts thats alot more work and more $$$

If your just trying to make the truck sound better you can get away with just replacing the muffler and tail pipe but you won't gain much on the performance end.

The truck will sound best with true dual but that is also the most expensive. With the true dual you will also get your best performance upgrade due to the less restircted exhaust flow.

Both Dynamax and Flowmaster make good bolt on exhaust systems.

or you can do headers into an X pipe custom pulse tuned for awesome sound in the 360 v8. Those LA blocks make a nice sound all on their own

headers and x-pipe are perfect, you should also consider a k&n cold air kit. With performance exhaust you will get more exhaust out, so you should get more air in to truely benefit.

Magnaflow stainless cat-back system. Best system under 500$. You whan tthe best than get the Corsa but it will run you 750$. I only paid 350$ for my Magnaflow system and it's 100% stainless. Also much better flowing than flowmasters. Not an opinion but a dyno'd fact.

a header is a more free flowing exhaust...it takes place of the exhause manifold u have now which is bolted right onto the block...its where the exhaust some out of the engine....a cat back system is just exhaust from the catalier converter (spelling??) back which is just like pipe to mufflers to tips whcih is the way i would go but it all depends on what you would want to spend

what kinda truck do u have
