    Tred Barta, new epsiode tonight.

ive been seing the previews, and i am kinda anxious to see the new episode tonight, where their boat is sinking.

I dont know if it is a safety episode, to show how to be really prepared, which in the previews looks like they are.

Or if their boat really went down! hope its just the safety one, would suck to lose a boat .

tonight at 9:00 eastern on OLN.

ok good, they said this was staged. . . whew, otherwise i would have a very new opinion of tred, lol

although, i thought once they were in the water he did a good job, the situation leading up to that point left a lot to be desired. Acting like that in an emergency is certainly not the way to do things (at least leading up to the time they went in the water)

    MMMMMMMMMMMM

    Hi:
I'm not a friend od TRED. I think he goes too far, most times.

    Tonight, I watched his show..............BRAVO.

Being on the wrong end of a one way trip at sea, sure does get your attention,IF U SURVIVE, that is.

There are a few things that I disagree with in tonights show. Mostly I agree. A PLA,A PLAN,A PLAN.

One thing he DID not mention was WOODEN DOWELS. If the hole is that big, that your going down, then in leass than 5 minutes your swimming, bank
    on it.
The dowel I mentioned saved my boat when the rear engine mount broke....53 miles at sea. O U C H !!!!!
The dowels I carry was put into the hole that the shaft the spun off the tranny went down and punched a hole in the boat.
I pulled the deck plates and saw what happened. Grabbed my EMERGENCY PACK, I always kept ON DECK in a corner and grabbed the dowels. One dowel with silver tape wrapped around it was pushed into the hole. From sinking, I went to SOMBITCHGUYS, get on the radio and call the Coast Guard. That was a SINGLE SIDEBAND RADIO, by the way. A call to the tow company was in order. A wait for 6 hours was then in order.
All I'm trying to say is, keep your safety, emergency equipement ABOVE the deck. You don't have to go below ,waste time and MAYBE get trapped down there and DROWN.
ANYTIME you head out to sea, be prepared and KNOW what to do and how to do it. Have your safety equipement AND EPIRB AND LIFERAFT checked by safety experts EVERY YEAR. U never know when something is bad in that raft. LET the raft experts check it out EVERY YEAR.
By the way, I had mine in a fiberglass box, strapped to the cabin roof. No matter what happened, if my ship went down, It would pop up and float for me. If I had time, all I had to do is stand on a gunnel, pull the painter and it would pop up and out and go right o/side on it painter.

BB RR AA VV OO TT EE DD !! !! !! !!

Anytime you can wakem up and get em home safe, it worth the effort in doing so. My hats off to you.
