    Travel time...

    hey everyone, how long would it take to drive a boat from the northern tip of long island to the tip of south jersey? its a 28' boat that cruises around 30 knots. are there any short cuts that anyone knows? tight lines -tags11

    The shortest distance is a straight line and that would be the quickest way. Hugging the coast will take much longer, but will be much safer in a 28 ft boat, which is recommended. It is approx 220 miles (if my memoruy is right) so fule may be an issue on a boat that size, plus you will be over 100 miles offshore from the closest coastline for part of the trip which my add a pucker factor for you.

    Be safe and take your time down the coast.

    Maybe you should consider using a trailer! Its alot safer and cheaper. Just another option.
