    TRANSOM BAR QUESTION

Does anyone know where I can get a bar that looks just the transom of a large sportfisher? Or am I just going to have to build one myself?

I'll see if I can find the link that I used to have, but I'll tell you that you'll come out ahead if you build it yourself!

Yeah, I think I'm going to build it myself. Shipping would cost as much as the material that I would have to buy.

We had one for our booth at the shows. It was made out of 1x3 strapping for the frame, cause we were able to bend it to the curve of a transom. We used Luan to cover it because it is made from mahogany, after sanding it lightly and epiphane varnish it looked awesome. We put some 6" PVC piping for the exhaust, add some cleats and rod holders and you ready to drink...........

You might have to make one.You can even make the exhaust ports for garbage shutes.Put garbage cans under them.then make the transom door your beer cooler lid.

One of the crabhouse around here has two. Cantlers River Side In has two used as a servers table. Its a home built thing.I reckon the materials wouldnt cost more than $100.Use circular metal gutter tubing as exhaust.

I'm just going to make it myself. It'll be a bit taller than an actual transom, because it has to be functional. I'm going to use no less that 8" pipes for the pipes!! I may even record the beautiful sound of 1300 bhp diesels for the backdrop noise when the bar is in use...Speakers will fit under the gunwale on each side! I'll send in a picture when it's done.
