I got a phone call Sunday morning and the world has been a pretty sad place since then.
My cousin Patrick died as a result of injuries sustained from car wreck. His Girlfriend Katie, died on the scene.
This tragedy occurred outside Morgantown early Suday morning. Severe winter road conditions are beleived to be the cause.
As many of you know, the Kavanagh Cousins are a pretty tight group. Jackson and I grew up with Patrick and he was like a brother to us.
Patrick was Geologist, he worked in Mining Consulting in West Virginia. He was a tremendous musician, and recently a successful business man, his Snowboard manufacturing endevour was on the verge of being big.
He and I attended WVU together, He was an undergrad while I was in grad school, He and Jackson attended ECU together, where Pat did his graduate work.
Patrick was always positive in his outlook on life, and always seemed to take great joy in life's simple pleasures. It was always a great time for everyone there when Patrick was around. For those of you who had the pleasure of knowing Patrick, you will not have any trouble remembering fun times and pleasant thoughts of him.
I am sure Katie was a special person too, although I did not have an opportunity to know her.
Services are at 11am, St. Anne's in Webster Springs, WV
Peace for Patrick and Katie.
Here are some pics Natalie was able to find on her computer.
