I believe we'll be staying at TCM for giant season, and was wondering what you guys think of the place. I can't say that I've ever been there. What are their facilities like, docks, bathhouse, etc.

Capt Lyndon we keep our skiff up in dry stack at town creek. The place is nice, facilities are average. But one thing I can say is do not get Towne Creek to do any work on your boat, engines or hull. The job you tell them to do will end up twice as much as the quoted you and it takes them three times longer than what the originally predict. But besides that it is a nice place.
I handle all of my own maintanance and repairs, so that's not an issue. Thanks for your input.
o' dear lord please don't let "worldcat lemon" see this thread...lol
I thought the same thing. Dang you Capy. Lyndon, you just won't let the dust settle will ya????Frank
Hey Capt Lyndon, where you coming from? You got a place to stay, vehicle, or been here before? I just finished my round trip to NE and had a bunch of folks help me out so I am up to return the favor. As for Town Creek, I think the facilities are alright, a bit off the beaten path but not like Stage. That place is a desert especially hanging from a ball. The one thing you are going to have to get familiar with is the bridge risings, can be a pain in the ass. When are you planing on getting here? If there is anything I can do to help give me a shout. If I can't do it there a bunch of guys here that will help you out. There have been sitings of giants here but the menhaden boats came through and cleaned out the bait and with the blow no one has been able to get back out. A few are planning on getting it this week and I'm in there.
Hey Lyndon,
You might think about Portside, MHC Yacht basin or Beufort town docks alot more user friendly also don't know were your staying but the Palms has docks to use if your staying there..I know John T stayed there last season so Im sure he could fill you in on there rates.

Rick and Ken, I'm coming from Holden Beach, and have fished MHC the last 4 giant seasons, but have always stayed at either Palm Suites at Atlantic Beach, or at the Comfort Inn. In the past, I've been fishing either center console's or with capt Jon on his 26 shamrock. We have bought a 27 Albemarle Express, and I don't want to have to play the tide's to get in and out at Palm Suites. As far as the bridge openings, how do they do it? On the hour or on request? We are going to stay on the boat, so having showers and laundry is a must. We are planning on bringing the boat up next weekend. Yes we will have a vehicle. One other reason I'm thinking Town Creek is that they will let us charter, which is a must since I have 8 or 10 on the books already. Rick, thanks for the offers. We will have to get together when I get up there. Ken, thanks for the info. We need to try to get together soon.
Capt. Lyndon
They do the bridge openings by hour in the early morning. And also by request during the day. But at the time of morning you would be pulling out I don't think anybody will be in the draw bridge control center. You may want to consider staying at Olde Town on radio island. That is where we keep our big boat and it is great. There they have showers and nice bath rooms. They have a washer and dryer that you can use with quarters. Also you don't have to worry about a draw bridge or a no wake zone, you are literally right at the inlet. I know sure they have a couple of slips open at olde town. Over all Olde Town is much nicer than town creek.
