here's a thought...

instead of blasting the guy here, why didn't you,or your son,go stop over at cappy's dock to discuss the situation ?? this is the way i would've handled the problem.the direct approach-it works.threatening violence, throwing beer grenades, this is kid stuff-and truth is,it's funny to read, but when push comes to shove, most wouldn't say "boo" to a glass of water .
take the direct approach, stop over to his dock and tell him what you've to say...

Just recently, I watched a Florida based fishing show on the sports network in Florida. A sailfish tournament boat hook a sail in tight quarters, hence a "Weekender" center console was in the way, (which he really was not, he was just having fun fishing) the line was snagged on the lower unit of the outboard, the Capt of the tournamernt boat screaming, the angler jumped into the water, swam to the cenetr console, around to the other side and than picked up again on the sporty, this same boat put someone in a liftjacket to fight a fish during a tournament about a year ago.

How far does one go??? you can't get mad if some weekender, doing nothing wrong, just having fun, happens to cross a pod of fish. If he was set up, been there for a while, fighting the fish, and than moved in on by a big sporty, well, sorry big sporty, tournament or not, get out of the way

If however the boat was bowed up "near" his spread and he was refusing to move as a fish came his way (without screwing his own bowed up ones) that would be wrong too. Most of the guys out there are good about maneuvering around EACH OTHERS fish.

In the heat of the moment stuff happens. I had a guy in Islamorada pull up in front of me and drop the anchor to bottom fish while I was working a spot during a tournament. I wasn't tickled about it as I bowed up but we worked the fish around past him.
Hey Paul, I'm not the type to toss names out on the internet but you know this boat !! He won the silver derby a couple of times
