tough boat

this is a friends bertram 31. in the face of katrina they tied it to the pilings at venice marina with multiple lines. when they could finally get back down there...all the pilings and the boat were gone. two or three weeks later they found it in a small pass.....still tied to the pilings. they cut the pilings off started her up and drove her home......tough boat!!

actually had one of my most exciting days off shore on this boat....involved a large YFT and a large thunder storm......cap't says to me "dont worry bout the water...the boat can take anything....it's the lightning". guess he was right

they.ve been glassin and sanding and patching but have a ways to go...there is a lot of lesser damage from the lines and lots of nicks. great guys and do everything themselves. first time i was on her it was the third trip on engines rebuilt in the driveway.

Maybe those pylons still tied kept her from being totalled ??
