I have a vacation planned for the first week in March and need a little advice on what kind of fishing gear I should bring.
We are renting a 50 foot motor yacht for a week of touring the BVI’s. This boat isn’t really set up for fishing and to be honest I don’t think that the wife would be too happy with me if I shanghaied everyone to go fishing.
I have upgraded the dink to a 16 foot center console RIB with a 65 hp motor. I have no idea what type of fish will be within reach of the small center console but I’m sure there will be something that will keep me busy.
I will be bringing a light weight spinning set up (12 lb) with me and will be able to rent a little larger spinning set up from the marina where we are picking up the boat.
What kind of hooks, leader, lures, ect…. Should I be bringing with me from the states? What kind of fish are biting at that time of year?
Any help and recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

bring a couple 30's some rod holders and some small feather type lures and a few high speed trolling lures , you'll probably only cruise 12 knots or so, small tunas Kings and wahoo would be around. I have a couple cases if you need em
Boy that's a beautiful boat...have a great time.......that little Red Sox kid will be waiting for you when you get back...he hates guys with tans in the middle of the Winter......especially since we hear you're getting Jason Bay....
