    time for a new vehicle

Need a new vehicle - currently have a lexus sc300 but I have had one too many tuna tails sticking out the window on the way home. we currently have a F250 Deisel but the wife usually kidnaps it for the horse trialer. So I am stuck without a truck. So what to buy? doesn't need to be a pickup but if it is I will also need it to be a full crew since it will double as the family vehicle. Will need to be able to support full size cooler, rods, and tons of squids. What do you guys drive? help me out

chevy silverado with a 6.5' bed. i fit a 125 qt cooler, 2 120's, and 2 70's in the bed with an extender. all tackle and rods (broken down) go in the back seat. take 2 coolers out and it all fits in the back.
back seat is big enough for 2 children no problem.

Just bought an F150 Super crew with 51/2 foot bed. Use it as the family car . Ive had Broncos or expeditions for 25 years. I just love the pickup.

I was driving down the road with an 80lb yellowfin in the passenger seat of my jeep wrangler a couple weeks ago thinking the same thing. I would go with a pick up but I do too many road trips and work trips to make that practical. At least that's my assumption. How does one of those extended cab pickups do for mpg?

I won't sell the jeep because it's good for too many other things, but my main car is a VW Passat and it's time for that to go. I've decided to adopt my wifes RX330 and get her a new car. Still doesn't solve hauling a pile of fish and bait around since today's SUV's just aren't made for the slop.

Has anyone used one of those hitch based platforms? Not a trailer but a steel cargo thing that locks into the hitch. Any idea how much they hold? That could be the answer to having a family suv that can still get the mako to the weigh station or butters to the boat.

You no my answer is going to be diesel. Have the X plenty of room, remmember last week with Ernie's cooler with 2 and 1/2 bigeyes on board. Still plenty of room for the canyon bag and drink cooler.

But, then again I know Bill, something that can be hosed out would be nice. Plus something with a large trash can close to the pilot seat.[grin]

    FORD F150 SUPERCREW

We have several vehicles, but we mainly use our F150 Supercrew since it is an all around vehicle, 4 door crew cab with plenty of space and a short bed if you need to haul anything. It rides fantastic and has plenty of power!
It has been very dependable also.

Not to worry Cory, the first time my 6ft tall donkey pulls up through the picket fence and gets out and leaves the sun roof and door open the battery will die. Then he will leave the truck to sit until it has a flat at which point we will have massive flooding and the rim will sink down into the crush and go stone stuff in the driveway. By the time I get sick of looking at it and fix it myself all the schmutz inside will dry and it will be as good as vinyl and can be hosed out! Hopefully he wont drive into the pond and will be able to preserve the vinylity of the spilled coffee, soda and tuna guts.

    i love my truck.

got it for my 16th birthday this past april.

2005 chevy silverado Z71 crew cab, with tow package.

its the shlt. its best of both worlds. the 4 full doors make ALOT Of inside room, and i can carry all kinds of crap in the bed.

rides SMOOOTH as silk, and has super power, especially since i just got a tow chip :-) get a little more gas milage, and... LOADS MORE POWER BABY!

also love the on demand four wheel drive on it, its really nice.

anyways, i love it. tis what i drive.
