I saw him in person about two years ago at Doral, he is absolutely ripped. We about six feet from him and you could actually feel the intensity coming off of him, at that particular tournament he came back to win, and I can understand how his competitors fold under the pressure.

Innovator- hey man, I see you're from Boston......

You saw TW at Doral? Nice!

I saw him at the 2007 Deutsche Bank @ TPC Boston~ he was paired with Mickelson & Vijay

And like you said.....we were there on Day 2 (a Saturday in this tourney that ends on Labor Day Monday)......the kinetic energy that buzzed around him when we also got within 10 ft of walking between holes!

Its not only about his ability to succeed but its the fashion in which he does it. His passion is just amazing and I never thought I would be amped by watching a golfer but he is just a machine.

    tiger story

So here is a funny story, I start playing golf becuase of corporate events. I could always hit the ball long, won several long drive awards at events but i had no clue what I was doing. After my first full year of golfing I got down to a about a 88-90 average

not bad, but not great ...

My swing wasnt perfect but my short game saved me. I decided to go get lessons as I was playing weekly so i walk into a very well know golf place and they picth me on this whole system where they hook me up to a monitor blah blah blah

So after 15 minutes I look like R2DR from star wars I have bottons, wires and a golf pro telling me to relax and enjoy!!!!! WTF

So they have me hit a few balls and then say "are you ready to see this?" I respond sure!

SPLIT SCREEN - Me on right and Tiger on left WTF!!!!!!

She says green lines are good red lines are bad

This is Tigers set up versus you ... a little red but OK
This is Tigers Stance this is yours ..... more red
This is Tigers back swing this is yours ... OMG Red Sea

I was like holy shit that was the most depressing 30 minutes of my life ... I will stick to fishing

Well after 6 lessons my average went from 88/90 to like 95/98 HAHAHAAHHA

needless to say I dont play golf anymore

    4- Muhammed Ali
    5- Babe Ruth

These choices are base not only upon achievements within the sport but how they changed the landscape of the particular sport and thier roles outside of the sport world. For example I find Muhammed Ali as the the first truely trash talking sports figure, but he did it in a respectable way. Tiger Wood's not only dominates but he made golf popular to the general public like no one else before. Wayne Gretzy set scoring records that I believe will never be broken. Michael Jordon six titles (I think?) and probrably the most most reconizable basketball player ever.

Baseball is a tough one for me, especially with all of the steroid B.S., but Babe Ruth is certainly there. I'm sure there are a lot of opinions and arguments to be had. That is what I love about talking sports

No doubt that tiger should be number one on that list being he has been so dominant, but there are some other phenomenal athletes that should be on there, Roger Federer,Lance Armstrong,Kelly Slater 9X surfing world champ also totally redefined the sport,Michael Phelps,Floyd Mayweather,Fedor Emelenianko,Cael Sanderson! any one of those guys could make top athlete lists. But tiger is alone at the top

My daughter, at 5 years old knew NOTHING about golf but knew who Tiger was. She watched some event on TV with me and she was hooked...he has that type of power over people.

I saw him last year at the Masters (what an AWESOME day that was) and he is intimidating. Yes, the others "fold" when they play the final round with him but remember, on Sunday he shot a bunch of birdies early which puts the pressure on...THAT is what made O'Hair fold...

He is not even close to completing what he has started either...he'll eclipse every athlete by a wide margin before he is through.

I agree with you.....and lets look at Lance for a second.....
it'd be nice to put several of these FREAKISHLY AWESOME athletes in the same room.....let them come up with a GANT chart (of how to become dominant in your sport).....

Look at Lance.......7x in a ROW to WIN Td'France??!!??

Federer...........I can't begin to account for his successes

    Kelly Slater....again.....whoa!
