Question Things that make you go hmmmmm...?

Ok, maybe it’s just me, but I had something happen last weekend that is now making me scratch my balding head as I reviewed some pictures I saved on the camera. A friend of fishergirls recommended we purchase a different dog food for Hooper, a brand more commonly found in feed stores. I don’t frequent feed stores as I have no real need for horse halters, udder cream or the like. Anyways, as we enter the store fishergirl is suddenly drawn to three watering troughs in the middle of the store with heating lights swinging over them. As she gets closer I can hear her squealing with delight like a little school girl. As I got closer I could see that in one were some little chicks, the second had some baby ducks, and the third had baby bunnies. This is an obvious attempt by the owners to take advantage of the Easter Holiday and to pull on the heart strings of one fishergirl!! Well, after about a hour and endless pleading by fishergirl I was able to pull her away from the troughs, find the dog food and finally exit the building...without making a little furry/featherly purchase!! On the way home fishergirl in an attempt to sway my decision decided to recruit some backup. She looks at me and say’s…”Jesse, lets bring the girls back so they can see the babies”. After repeated attempts to thwart her manipulative ways, I caved in, but steadfastly told her…the girls can go see them, but I am NOT, I repeat not bringing a duck, chicken or rabbit into the house. We then ran home, grabbed the girls and headed back to the store…being the smart guy that I am, I thoroughly prepared the girls and explained AND repeated numerous times that it was strictly a trip to view the animals, and that there would be no purchasing of said animals. Anyways, as expected the girls went nuts with “oooo’ss, ahhhhhh’s” and all those girlie sounds that make dad’s nervous. Now up to this point I’m pretty confident I’ve got things under control and there is nothing that is going to happen or be said that is going to change my mind…or at least that’s what I thought. The first picture is of my two girls…but the second one is what really makes me scratch my head. This is the newspaper the store owner lined the trough with!! Is this a sign, coincidence, divine intervention or just plain bad luck for me. What would you do??? Remember, I have NEVER once been in this store...totally random!!!

So you bought your Lab a playmate anyway. Pretty cool about your daughters picture in the paper. Did you or fishergirl not notice it when you were there earlier

a live duck could be a good training tool for Hooper.

Neither of us noticed...I don't typically expect to see my kids face used as CHARMIN.

That chic, duck, or rabbit wouldn't last too long with Hooper...

Marine...Hooper is a few days shy of 5 months old. He seemed to be eating a little less the last couple weeks and after some conversations with other owners/vet we picked up some Canidae and introduced it with his other food. He just about ate the bottom out of his food bowl. Your right...high quality dog food gets expensive, but he's worth it!!

We've been feeding Koa Pro Plan - it is what the breeder recommended and feeds her own.

The higher quality foods will have less filler, and will require less food and result in less "waste"
