I went up to the mountians over the weekend and look what I almost steped on.
I have some better pics yet to be downloaded to my Photobucket, I have a close up of the ratttle that is still sharp at 200% mag, yeah. I was just walking along the AT and I saw him at my feet and I jumped back and said "OH SHIT" it scared the hell out of me to say the least. Then my father took the pics and he must have been the nicest snake i the forest, we threw rocks at him and poked him with a stick trying to get a good striking pic. He never struck at me, and after 15 min of trying to piss off a rattle snake off he finally shuck his rattle and curled up but that was it. I was down by Lynchburg lake and caught one tiny bass on the first cast nothing else the hole day had a nice swim though.
Now I am going to quiz you guys, what kind of rattle snake is it, it was found in the George Washington national forest that is my one hint.
