Yes, you have to be aware of your surroundings all the times, as "strangers" come into the country from all angles, their value of life doesn't match ours in some cases. Some have a past history of revolting against their own governments or legal authorities, so they aren't going to respect our system. Gangs that are running wild across the country are a miniature example of the undercurrent against authority. As we were caught unawares at 911, and authorities come up to speed, I think renditions of police states are going to become more commonplace.....

I grew up in the Bronx. Strangers moving in and collecting welfare was the way of the world. One after another neighborhoods were declared slums.
Different culture, life style, value of life. Work ethic or lack of.
I'm used to being aware of my surroundings.

About 4 years ago we had 4 known terrorist came across the border from N.B. Canada to Maine at the mill town crossing.The border patrol had them tailed but lost them,I say again,lost them!Here we are 4 years later they have never been found or talked about again,they know they are here to do something,they thought it would be to do with local water supply,to see how many people it would affect or like what just happened in N.Y..For the most part people in Maine that I know really aren't scared just aware that we may have to shoot one of those dumb asses,the thing they should be scared of is we gut out & hang what we shoot,just the way it is,MAINE,THE WAY LIFE SHOULD BE!

I hate to say it ,but it's not gonna end anytime soon. Terrorism IS a mind game, at it's purest level. They can't beat you head on, so the just get in your head! There are way's to combat this plague, but it has to be handled without the public or media knowing about it. We have bought into the idea that WE should know everything that is going on, truth is there are thing's that the public shouldn't (or has no reson to) know. Fact of the matter is there has been event's that have been headed off before they became history. Fact is we don't hear of them. The media has way more interest in pointing out the flaw's, instead of the strong point's we have.
In my opinion, the biggest flaw we have at the moment is the media having the "right" to be embedded with our deterent forces. Since when is the act of defending yourself required to be nice and fair? Frank
