"Terrorism" yes...yes indeed. A term to embed in the minds of the masses (sheeple). Are there some that know better? Sure, but the 80-20 rule applies.

    280,000,000 - population
    224,000,000 - 80% (believe in the boogeyman)
    that leaves
    56,000,000 - 20% that know something isn't adding up
44,800,000 - 80% of the 20% are dependant upon someone else to provide some kind of answer. Glenn Beck????
11,200,000 - 20% who have done the research to educate themselves on the truths.
8,960,000 - 80% of the 20% who are waiting for "someone to do something"... ie: the ones who "say" they're ready but won't do anything to take a stand.
2,240,000 - the 20% who have organized to a point of being prepared.

    Where do you fall?

Of course he doesn't want to piss them off. Screw israel though. He certainly has no respect for the jews. He is dangerous to our national security.

Seems like Obama captured more terrorists in a little over a year than Bush did in 8. Obama has also had the gonads to chase them into Pakistan when Bush wouldn't. Right after 9/11 Bush Bush ordered enhanced screening of travelers from certain muslim countries but Bush would not ad Pakistan or Saudi Arabia to this list (understandable since Bush has been falaciating the Saudi King for years) even though 15 of the 19 hijackers were Saudis. On 1/4/10 Obama added Pakistan and Saudi Arabia to the enhanced security list.

"The fact is we have a 100% success rate in trying terrorists in civilian court and as far as I know the only ones walking around and back to their old tricks, are walking around because Dick Cheney released them! We’ve killed or captured more terrorist leaders under Obama’s 1st year than we did under Bush. We’ve had more ‘drone-launched missile strikes’ in President Obama’s 1st year than in Bush’s last 3 years. We are spending more money to “expand secretive Special Operations units, deploy more unmanned aerial drones” , but somehow it’s not good enough because President OBama doesn’t torture, because he doesn’t throw everyone into a military tribunal, because he treats people as the laws this country was founded on tell him to treat people, so he is still weak on terrorism. If anything, the increased drones attacks, increased terrorist casualties, successful interrogation of a terrorist should prove that not only is he not weak on terrorism, but that he’s doing something pretty right."

Obviously 911 changed our outlook on security and the insanity and determination of some to eliminate us all.
I think it's something we already knew but the fact that they could reach us was driven HOME.
    WAKE UP CALL.
These people will stop at nothing to eliminate us.
    But,
Since 911 there has been no succesfull major terrorist activity here.
Or am I wrong ? Did we learn the rules and how to deal with this new threat ?

Despite popular opinion, Someone is doing something right keeping them from blowing us up.

Is it possible they will one day have success, sure.
I hope not. BUT, I'm not going to live my life worrying about it. If I find myself confronted by a terrorist I hope I can conduct myself in such a way as to not embarrass myself.
IE: staining my shorts and running.
Running might be a good thing but staining my shorts is
    not acceptable.
    Until that confrontation,
I'm just gonna keep on keeping on.
Sure, We are in Iraq and Afghanistan. Seems to me we took it to them. I dont care about not finding WMD's and wont get into how I could hide 10 $100.00 bills in my back yard (only an acre and a half) given months advanced notice, you'd never find em, not to mention sending them to Jersey. As much as the people in charge that thought this was a good idea and have now changed their position about it yap, Despite CURRENT popular opinion, someone is doing something right keeping them from blowing us up.

We've been fighting somewhere as long as I can remember.
This time, I think, we are defending ourselves. I know we are "helping". Maybe we are just keeping them busy
dying on their own turf and using up their resources so they can't get here. I don't know, Seems to be working.
What we have is a constant "threat" of terrorist activity.
Hard to get a grip on a threat, you cant shoot it, cant run from it, but you can't live in fear of it.
Unlike anything most have faced before.
I have no intention of letting them win any mind games.
Maybe my outlook on life is to simple for some.
Fight or flee. If there is nothing to fight or flee at the moment,
Have a beer and get on with it.
Spending time worrying will not get the job done. Just gives you ulcers.
So, to answer my own question.
Yes some of our lives have changed.
If we let them occupy our minds and instill fear about something they might be able to pull off. They win.
No, if we keep on doing what we have always done and deal with them as we find them. We win.
We, the people, have found out that there are people out there that want us dead at all costs and without any regard for their own lives can and did reach us. Including strapping bombs to little kids and truly believing they are doing the right thing.
Do not let them win by fearing them.

I just hope that this country we live in, With our advanced weaponry, use that weaponry to take out any terrorist stronghold or country and not put troops on the ground. Just doesnt seem to be a need to put American military at risk. Whats the point of having all these nifty weapons if we still send in troops.
You dont tug on supermans cape, you dont spit in the wind,
You dont pull the mask on the ole lone ranger and you dont mess around with the USA. .

ps; I probably wont be moving near any nuclear plants in the near future.
A recently retired Marine Colonel told me, after 9/11, a coalition had "closed door" meetings with the head's of Pakistan,Iran and a few other 3rd world sand pile's and explained that if the USA were ever attacked on a scale of the Towers again..we would render the ME one big pile of glass. Back when Cheney was in office..i can see that happening, Now??Bama will kiss there butts, and apologize for being "aggressive"

If you want to talk about something that frightens me when I think about it. You hit the nail on the head. I can only hope that we will respond to any attacks on the USA with all the force we can muster.

That's got to be better than all the times Bush was falaciating the Saudi King. A colonel told me that Bush wore holes in the knees of his pants doing this.

As for Cheney, yes it is so sad he is no longer in office. This man did so much for America.

I'm with ya, problem is you can't bomb California because of the actions of some LA gangs...same applies over there...methinks....the bravado feels good, but won't happen....
