Terrible Thursday..................

Well today was going great........... its payday what more can I say about that. My students all morning were excellent and did very well on their Geography test. Now 11:00 my fourth grade students, which are my home room students come to class ready for Alabama History. I tell my students to pack up their am books for the day. Im walking around the room and I walk beside one of my students who is getting his books out of his desk. Well, here's where things take a turn. As Im walking beside him, he doesnt realize Im walking by him and I dont notice he extends his leg out.

Yes, I trip over his leg and go flying towards my white board and my podium. I land on my left knee and right hand. I have my nails done every two weeks so when I hit the floor two of them are ripped off. My students are saying Ms. Turner, your nails are flying through the air. It doesn't feel good when you have two fake nails yanked off. I start pulling myself off the floor and trying to calm down the child who accidentally caused the whole ordeal. He was really upset. He's crying and saying, I'm sorry Ms. Turner, I would never hurt you I love you. As I get up my finger is cut up and from my right wrist up to my elbow is huge and swelling by the minute. I start applying ice on my injury as the office is trying to find a sub so I can go to the doctor to have ex rays. Well my arm is sprained and I'm in a bandage and immobilizer. I have to wear the bandage for at least a week or two.

All in all, I've had an eventful day. It's not comforting at all typing with one finger on the left hand !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, thats not all of it. On the way home I was driving the normal speed limit. Then all of a sudden this speeding car come into my lane and knocks me off the road. Im now on the side of the road and my car is twisting from side to side. I actually thought my car was going to flip. I came to a stop and had to calm down. It scared the sh*t out of me. He went on about his business and didnt bother stopping to see if I was ok. Needless to say, I walked through the door and downed a corona to calm my nerves.

I now wished....... I would have taken that fishing invitation that was offered to me.

Nothing like yours Marissa. Hey at least it didn't break. 2 weeks in an inmoblizeer is much better then 6-8 in a cast with lots of rehab. Sorry your day was so rotten.

I'm really sorry about your day and especially your injuries. There is a lessen here for all of us to remember, If you have a choice between working and fishing, always go fishing. I hope they gave you something good for the pain and yes it's OK to mix margaritas with ********.

Hey girl, I feel your pain. That is with the students. Would not know about the nails. I teach PE grades 1 to 6 here in NJ. Some days you just don't know why you did not call out sick. Ha Ha

I do my charter fishing weekends in the spring and fall and fish 7 days thru the summer. My fishing season ended only about a month ago and I am already jonesin for the spring. Lets see, how many days left in the schooooool year? AAAAAAHHHHH!
