    team whitey

Hi there, I'm new here, and wanted my first post to be worthwhile, so here it is!
I live in Annapolis, but when i can, i hang around the docks in OC ever since Bill (pre-Squidnation) got me tangled up in a sailfish years and years ago. So this is my second billfish, and first whitey!
Marston took me out on the Sea Wolf, and his mate Steve saw this beauty near the Poorman's on the 80 fathom line at almost 2 in the afternoon. (Gosh, that was a long morning without seeing anything but some pilot whales!) Steve got me hooked up and we brought him in ever-so-gently. When Whitey got to the boat he lit up like he was showing off just for me! Awesome, simply awesome. We got him in for a photo op and back in he went. It couldn't have been more perfect- perfect day, perfect catch and release, perfect pelagic.
I can't say enough about Steve Eakle the mate. I've been on a few charters, and this guy was awesome. Very customer oriented, very communicative, very experienced.
I know its crazy hard work, and its not fun a lot of the time, but man, you guys get to see this every day?!?!?! I can say its a bummer that i didn't catch this white 3 weeks ago, but I'll feel like i won the lottery every time i remember the electric colors blazing on this fish. The description "neon blue" doesn't even come close to accurately describing these colors- and seen without imbibing illicit substances!!
I hope its not another 7 years till my next billfish, but I have confidence that this White will be just as bright in my memory as that sailfish has been. And even if i never catch another, those colors could still burn a hole right through my little pea-brain.
Thanks for letting me share the water with you all!

Hey - "got new motors" congrats on the billfish. Lets try and shorten up the period between releases. I have room for you and the propeller fella on Friday. Supposed to be light and slight. Give me a call after 4:30 today. I will be on my way down to the boat. I also got room for one if you want to come along tomorrow as well. Call me.
