VERY GOOD TURN OUT IN PHOENIX TONIGHT. HAVE NOT HEARD ANY ESTIMATES ON HOW MANY ATTENDED BUT, WE HAD TO PARK AND WALK A GOOD DISTANCE TO GET TO THE STATE CAPITOL. GREAT SIGNS, GOOD ATMOSPHERE, MANY SPEAKERS SAYING BASICALLY THE SAME THING "WE'RE GETTING SCREWED BY BIG GOVERNMENT".

THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I HAVE PARTICIPATED IN A DEMONSTRATION OF ANY KIND, FELT REAL GOOD, GLAD I WENT.

There was a big one going down in my small town today. Hell, we only have one stoplight and I think 1/3 of the town was in the city hall parking lot!!

Standin on a street corner holding a sign is about as effective as throwin a waterballoon in a downpour. How many of you didn't pay your taxes? That would get their attention.

You had your chance to vote your boys back in and increase our deficit, which is why this crap is going on in the first place.

I also saw someone said something about sending tea bags to political figures and they mentioned both Obama and McCain? Who gets your vote? If I remember McCain was riding the shirt tails of W. and we see what a great job that administration did.

All I know is that thanks to some of the policies in place now I am able to keep my house out of foreclosure, for now, no thanks to our previous reign of terror.

I'm not one looking for a handout, only an opportunity to make an honest living. Just give an honest, white, english speaking, middle-aged man an opportunity in a country of illegals. Is that too much to ask?

The tea parties aren't about who voted for who, there were people from both sides attending.

Bush did not make you sign a mortgage agreement, on your other point

And finally, this whole thing is about gov't getting too large and taking too much control. Spending our tax dollars to fulfill their own agendas

I'd consider myself a conservative, I think the two party system is helping to divide our country, basically tear it apart. Policy's under Bush that everyone complained about while he was in office that are still in effect are now the greatest thing ever to Obama supporters if he says they are going to stay.

Just remember, it's not about parties, it's about gov't as a whole, THEY SPEND TOO MUCH, ALL OF THEM.

I'll make it simple in an example:

You go to work all week, hand your wife your check and she spends it all on shoes for her and her friends .

Had over 2000 people attend the Annapolis gathering. Folks are pissed about the liberties disappearing. Taking the money from those that earn it and spending it on crap is not right.

At the Alamo... there was 20,000 plus. I could not get anywhere even close or find any parking. It was a great turn out.

And to the simple-minded.... this WAS NOT about Obama. I am sure you could find one or two signs in the crowd pointing fingers to him... but 99% of those calling BS on the system and what has been building for MANY years.

Last time I checked, taxes are paid everytime I buy food, gas, booze, etc, etc... and earning a living as one being self-employed, I pay taxes on my "business". On the otherhand, if you work for someone (w-2) and you're not a Federal Employee or earn you income from making revenue outside of the US... explain to me why you are not marking the EXEMPT box on your income filing?

Tricia .. thanks for your post..it sure gets people thinking.. we watched a deal on 60 minutes the other night about gun control..<~~ (basically to me that means you better know how to properly clean, use, shoot and know when to use it..).. the show was about how much guns , ammo and the facts that at this gun show you could buy guns face to face on the spot without a FBI background check.. that afternoon we had some lady asking us to sign a paper for her so she could apply for 'benefits and support.." I asked her about the support... she said it was for her kids.. (4 of them) ..I told her thier father was the one to go after for support... she said that that didn't work and he had no intrest and that he supports his "other" family..'. OMG!!!! so support is U.S. support..."daddy US" ... I said hell no.. and what do I have to do with this???.. Fishing is a way of life to some of us still and you have to work your ass off and watch what you spend. and thats a day to day thing. It is a great feeling knowing my wife, my daughter, my friends and my taxes look to me for 'support'.. so I think it is high time someone looks into how much is going out and how many pay in.. I give away fish to all our family n friends.. I am blessed that way.. but I cannot support everyone else..! and I don't know spanish enough to deal with pressing number 1...<~~ I thought we were ... Obama has voted for gun restrictions for his whole political time in office .. thank you very much I will keep and bear the right to keep mine because some day the people who don't have or don't work and have gotten used to selling drugs or stealing cars (let alone not taking care of thier own families may want what I have...)... what are ya gonna do then hold up a sign that says please don't mess with me?... look at the stats.. they post them just like sports.. illeagle aliens in jail?... illeagle aliens on welfare??... illeagle aliens that don't have a job that helps pay the taxes that keep up our streets let alone people who need it??.. go figure this one out and tell me again why we are not taking care of this?..
