    Tax Return Programs?

Has anyone here used a tax return program like Turbotax?

    Is it worth it?

    Is there a better program?

We always get money back from Jackson Hewitt, but they charge around $300.

We are thinking of doing it online this year.

Any advice would be appreciated. Todd

I used the online turbotax for a couple of years and if you are just doing simple 1099's its fine. I'm sure other people could have gotten a little more money out of it but I'm no nothing on tax stuff. This year will have to be a CPA for my new business and my wifes business.

I use turbotax, think its great. Handles fairly complicated transactions

One year I had sold a business, started a new LLC, bought and sold a couple houses, rental income, stock transactions, etc. Figured it was too complicated for TT, so had a CPA do my return. Just to check I ran it through turbotax too, the results were within a very small fraction of 1% of each other.

Simple returns can be done in an hour or less

    1040's?

You'll be fine with T-Tax. Hell, it gives you a amount due/receivable in the corner.

Green for money coming back and red for money going out.....

....pretty sure the Fed doesn't appreciate that.

    TaxAct is really good also
Captial gains, itemized deductions, you name it
They are so easy, tells you exactly where to get the needed info from
Get the refund deposited directly into your bank account.
Took like a week to get state and 2 for Federal back
    Good luck
