    Taco Tele-Outrigger Issue/Question

I have a set of the 18ft Tele-Outriggers and one of the inner sleeves has turned and is now preventing the locking peg from coming out. The hole is totally covered so I can't get anything in there to turn it back. I'm not even sure which way the hole is.
I've tried pushing it back but it doesn't want to budge.

Anyone know of how I can fix this?

    Thanks,
    Tim

spray some wd-40 allow it to penatrate..then wrap both top & bottom poles (at separation) with cardboard (i use toilet roll ) wrap that with electric tape..then over the taped area's use a oil filter wrench to loosen..when its separated enough,i use surfboard wax..(Dr Zogs Sex Wax) to keep everything moving..good luck.

    Tim,

you can try to hang it with the button then dragging it around back to the hole. I always thought that they were attached to the cap (the ring with the eye) if it is try to grab the eye and rotate it or the ring. If i was in the states i'd have a no shit answer for you in 5 min after looking at my neighbors. Hope one of those helps man.

PS your not missing anything over here...hope the eye is doing good and see you for HI BFT season

I'm not sure I'm understanding you right. The poles still slide and open up fine. They extend all the way and I've even fished them a couple times since I lost the one hole. I've just lost the hole on the second section.
Are you talking about taking them all the way apart to fix them?

    Hey Mike,

I tried for a while to see if I can use the button to pull it back. I hear it click into the hole but it doesn't stay, just pops right out when I twist.

I'll try and take some pics to better clarify.

Did you get the box I sent with the Jerky yet? I sent it a few weeks ago. Definitely looking forward to BFT season! I didn't get out ONCE after them last year.

    Stay safe!

I have had this happen to me with Taco a few times . What had to do was to use the point of knife to spin the sleeve on the inside back to the whole position .

I've tried that a bit but I didn't want to dig into it too much. If that's what I have to do, no biggy.

Is it normally pretty tough to get turned?

    Thanks,
    Tim

    Tim,

To correctly fix the out rigger, you must first have 2 "good" eye's. Can't find the pin because it's on the other side of the pole, out of sight. I thought you were talking about my outrigger's, then I remembered, they don't telescope.

Kapoc, don't listen to a thing he's whining about not going BFT fishing last year!!!! Oh yes, he was asked, and yes the BFT did fall. But where was he???? At home, newly married and all. I really do hope he sent you more than the one piece of that "heavenly" jerky I got. When he ask's you if "you want a piece"? That's exactly what it mean's, A PIECE! Frank

Sorry Tim, i thought it was frozen and you werent able to spin the pole to lock..now i get it..the suggestion by seapower is your best bet, i switched from taco to rupp, never had problem..but then taco's never gave me much beef aside from pin location and binding, and i think that happened...like...twice in 8 years.

No biggy, appreciate the info. I'll give the knife thing tomorrow.

    Thanks all,
