Swimming instructors

Ok have any of you ever went to a swim class and watched your young children get taught to swim ? ?

Holy shit at one point I thought I was gonna jump in the pool and start beating the shit out the coach for speaking to my son the way he did.

Then I relaxed a bit and started to think about things. The more he pushed my son he may have cried but he learned.

Then you start thinking that if your child feel in a pool and drowned it would have been great to have some one yell at your child for 3 hours of there life to make them learn to swim.

Dont think i have it in me to be a swim instructor nor a parent to watch it lol

OH BOY, JOHN ITS ATOUGH ONE, MY SON IS 16 AND HAS BEEN SWIMMING ON A SWIM TEAM SINCE 4 , STARTED LIFEGUARDING LAST SUMMER AND TEACHING CHILDREN FOR THE PAST 2 YEARS, IN WATCHING I HAVE LEARNED THAT HE LIKES TO MAKE IT FUN FOR THE KIDS, NO PRESURE, WHEN A MOTHER ASKED HIM WHY HE DIDNT MAKE HER DAUGHTER SWIM, HE LOOKED UP AND SAID SHE'L SWIM WHEN SHE'S READY, AND THAT WAS THAT, THE LADY NEVER SAID ANOTHER WORD TO HIM, BUT I'LL SAY ONE THING I NEVER YEALLED AT MY SON IN 16 YEARS, I THINK IT WOULD BE KIND OF TOUGH LISTENING TO ANOTHER GROWN UP RAISE HIS VOICE TO HIM. JUST MY THOUGHTS...DAVE...

lessons are a wonderful thing. Good thing you do not have girls.......I would not want to be the coach if he yelled at them

I was a lifeguard for yrs. and swam competively for yrs. winning multiple events in swimming.And I have been forbidden to teach my son the basics in swimming,the instuctors my son have are way better than me @ teaching,than I could be,I picture myself as the instuctors you are talking about Admin.But you either swim or drown,whats your choice.But my son can swim and will swim his arse off now since he's had 2 yrs. of lessons.And will be joining the swim team this yr. @ 6 yrs. old. I was 10 before I got on the team.

My Grandfather taught me to swim when I was very young...Walked down to the dock with me and said you are going to learn to swim today. Reached down and picked me up, through me in the water and said, " sink or swim!" Guess you all know how it turned out.

I lost my 3yr cousin about 8yrs ago to a pool, moma turned her head for a few seconds and thats all it took he was found face down in the pool. That was the worst funeral Ive ever been to. My daughter turned 1yr October 1 2006 me and my wife have had her in my wifes parents pool since she was 9 mnths old and I can promise you she will know what to do if she ever fell in (always hope it never happens). I know no matter what the worse can always happen. The best protection tho is to never let them out of your sight.8yrs ago was aterrible day Ill never forget. Ide rather a stranger or pool instructor wipped his a** to teach him a lesson rather than the way he had to learn.

My youngest can swim; but, he's going for some lessons anyway... As much time as we spend on or in the water he needs to be prepared for anything. I can't keep my eyes on him constantly. If there is yelling, I'll have a pretty hard time with it....

My older cousins did that to me and my brothers.......seemed like forever coming to the top. Guess it was not time to check out of here
