Although I've never fished for trout in WV, I have in Pa and I can tell you that you will probably need a heavier flyrod than that of a trout fisherman. If you hit the surf early in the morning or late in the day look for feeding birds in the wash. There will be bluefish or stripers under them.
Toss a big streamer or a popper into them, strip it fast and hold on.
