    Surrounded...

South Florida is more than a home its an adventure... I got to sit home all day and tend to some lure stuff, and get various rigging kits set for my run north at the end of the month... I also had to stay close to the castle cause Mini is sick as a poor kid can get...
So the local news has been running in the other room pretty much non stop. I decided to take a few minutes and watch some. Man this place is messed up! Gang shootings, traffic tie ups, child abuse, animal fighting rings busted, property tax or insurance costs driving thousands out of the state... all the usual stuff going on then it gets more interesting...
That storm off carolina got to generating some really special waves down here and the angle that the 15 footers cut in at us have unleashed the worst erosion anyone can remember. Literally 100 or more miles of recently replenished beaches not only lost the replenishement but in some areas has been erased all together. All kinds of structures getting under cut and falling into the ocean!
As if that isn't enough, I hear sirens and hear choppers... Brush fires! We are scupper deep in a drought and even though we had dodged some tornadoes and strong thunderstorms the other day, we are still dry as a bone. The fires are a few mile off but three seperate ones indicates that its touchy. I live right on the edge of a set of woods so it gets squeemish...

So the ocean is getting closer to my front door, the fires getting closer to my back door... So what do I do to deal with it? I come here to SFC and my extended family... Having this place to run to sure does make life nice...

Yes... It is nearing that time that I make my pilgrimage to the Promised Land and purge the holy waters of the demon makos...

I take it we have two boats for me to prep for Mako Mania... I do hope your brother chooses the "right" one. I like him. We're on the same page when it comes to the important stuff...

We are having a very strange day here. The storm picked up the smoke from a monster fire up north and you can barely see the sun through a brownish sky.
This is Florida... Nothing surprises me... Hell, we are rapidly becomming the buramese python capitol of the western hemisphere. A hurricane a month early or late would just fit in the mix, especially after the weather year we have already had...

Better hurry up and get up here to the "Mid-Atlantic" zone! Sounds pretty wild down there. The water temp here is not to good but the rest is slowly improving except as the weather improves the non coastal peoples school up here! they are part of the mix though and seem to bring money ....SOMTIMES!

Seriously, I've been watching this storm/hurricane thing over the past 3-4 years as compared to the water temp and the stream and it seems like we have had somewhat of a cold water wall keeping the worst away from here.
I'm no meteorologist but i fish and closely track the weather and who these days does'nt look at the h2o temp? Some of my storm track predictions? guesses is more like it have been dam good. my wife says i don't know anything and that everything i talk about relates to fishing. She's great though and so should see her reaction when i say there is GETTING PAID, SEX AND FISHING!Hope your day gets better.
