Yeah, that's surfer's beach in Eleuthera Bahamas. About an hour plane ride from Ft Lauderdale.

How often does that place get a swell like that? Mostly a winter thing or what?

From what I have heard they get waves pretty much as consistent as Puerto Rico. Any time we have storms up here in the N.E or out in the Atlantic they get good waves.

I've surfed waves like that pretty much every month of the year. It all really depends on which way the wind is blowing. The island is shaped like a big arrowhead. You just have to keep moving up and down the coast to find the spot that has offshore winds. You are usually surfing by yourself or with whoever you bring. Those photos are of surfers beach. It can get a little crowded there. Usually a crowded day is 20 guys out. You just move down the coast a mile or so and you can be back surfing by yourself. It also helps to have a small boat that you can launch off the beach some of the reef passes can be pretty far out in the ocean, but are fun to surf.

Fun swell, light offshore tropical breeze, gin clear water, no wetsuit-looks like my happy place -I bet the fishings not bad either.
