Maybe not a tear.....I had the TRC operation about 5 years ago.....I had alot of pain from the moment my elbow hit the gunnell till the MRI I finally had two months later. Hope the steriods work.....and the MRI shows no tear. If you do have a tear.....the first week will be tough....painful....then followed by 25 therapy trips...and a good 12 months till almost full recovery.
    Good Luck,
    Jim

thanx TFeeder and Dead Eye- from what y'all tell me that sounds bad- the shoulder is actually feeling somewhat better after a couple days of steriods and pain drugs. I can now move it (slowly up and out now with only moderate pain. (i couldnt move it at all with severe pain a couple of days ago. if it was torn do you think i would be able to move it this much this quickly? or do you think the meds could be masking a still existing tear? ( ps- i know yall aint doctors but it sounds like y'all know exactly what your talking about).

If you have a tear you can still move the arm. You will have pain when you do move the arm. When I tore mine I could still use the arm but it was very weak. Wait till the MRI to show the extent of the injury. Take it ease for now. I would suggest passive movements to keep the shoulder loose till you get the evaluation done with the Dr. & MRI.

Exactly right.....the steroids lessened the pain, etc., but as they wore off the soreness, pain, etc came back.

I had to sleep up-right in a reclined for a month. The only confortable position I could find.
Wish you the best on the MRI results.
