Being sunscreen savvy may take a little more work this summer. That's because you have more choices than ever. Sunscreens now come in spray, stick, gel, and lotion form.
"Your sunscreen must have a sun protection factor (SPF) of 15 or higher with broad-spectrum protection against ultraviolet A (UVA) and ultraviolet B (UVB), ???????????? As far as the bells and whistles on the latest and greatest sunscreens, ??????????????? What about Greaseless lotions. ???????????????? What about - so-called water-resistant sunscreens ????????? Water resistant ones are great for beach goers. There is one thing you must remember about all sunscreen.
They only last about 3-4 hours regardless of what the label says. You need to re apply every 4 hours for maximum protection Most places recommend 15 or higher. Mant doctors recomment 45 or 50. The problem is there is no real standard that proves that 45 is really better than 15. Re-Application is importand. The other important thing is apply liberally. Most people apply too little sunscreen. That may be one advantage to non greasy types. People are more willing to put it on heavier. |

I liked that bullfrog greasless gel for years. It last a long time and was not a chore to apply. Lately I have been using the coppertone 50spf spay on. It is very convenient and 10 seconds after you spray it on It is dry. Make sure you don't get any on your Costa's as it is a holy bitch to get off. One more thing, if you spend a lot of time on the water buy some of that spf lip balm stuff, I can't hardly do without it.

On Good Morning America the dermatologist recommend reaplication every 2 hours. She also made a good point. You need 15 spf but most people don't put enough on, so if you use a 30 you probable end up with 15 coverage.
5 places people miss 1. part in the hair 2. sides of the face 3back of neck 4 front of neck-top of chest 5 feet I though that the groin might be a missed spot, but then I remembered that that's what Bananna Boat is for |

gotta LOVE that solar-charged vitamin D..... actually I don't use sunscreen cause I am in the sun year round, can't avoid it, and the first time I got caught out somewhere without sunscreen I would have second degree burns. Can't handle any more drug dependencies......ha ha.

On my offseason, I work at Johns Hopkins University. I work near the cancer center and they recommend using Blue Lizard sunscreen. I have a 2 year old son that i use it on and it is the best. He breaks out on any other sunscreen. They have 2 kinds: For babies and adults. It is hard to get or find, bu tif you can i would recommend it. It is the #1 recommended sunscreen. Here is a website on it. http://www.crownlaboratories.com/bluelizard/
