    Sunglasses Needed - Recommendations

I'm tiring of the cheap sunglasses I've often purchased for fishing and would like some recommendations on a new pair. But my needs are peculiar.

Of course, I'd like wrap around polarized glasses that will protect my eyes and look good. But I also do a fair amount of wade fishing and surf fishing where I have to deal with wakes and surf. So, I need a pair that will absolutely stay on my head when a wave breaks over my head.

I had Costas at one time. But I lost both of them to the sea, one in the surf and one offshore when I leaned over the gunnel to stab a rod tip into the ocean when a Kingfish decided to run under the boat.

Anybody have a great pair of glasses that they REALLY like and would like to recommend?

Had a pair of them with every pair of sunglasses I ever had. They don't adequately hold the glasses on your head in surf. One of the pairs of Costas I had were outfitted with them but they pulled off.

Been thinking of drilling the prongs and fitting them out with 100 # mono. But think that too would pull out in the surf.

About being a Repub, I was all my life until Bush invaded Iraq illegally and crushed that innocent country. All the Republicans who used to argue against senseless foreign wars and entanglements and against big government and against nation building and against blowing the national debt sky high seemed to disappear from the Party. They were replaced with a far-right, christian militancy and intolerance that was not only repellant to me personally, but also, at a strict 180 degree deviance from traditional conservative thought and principles.

Essentially, the party went rogue and I was having none of it. I forecast then and I've certainly been proven correct now that the party would drift ever further to the right because of the impossibility of the party primaries to produce moderate candidates.

Unless something dramatic, unexpected and unforecast happens in the near futhure the fate of the part is sealed; it will become the haunt of weirdos, cranks, racists, statists and christian militants. I want no part of it.

For me the liberals are not an option either. I don't like group think. I may be populist, in nature, but I'm not dying to hug a tree or save a whale. And, believing in things like that and working towards tree-hugging and whale-saving appears to be price of admission to that movement. I want no part of it, either.

So, I'll be an independent. It's where I fit on the political spectrum. It's a place I can be free of the regimentation of party politics, where I don't have to defend the indefensible, I don't have to become mute when the party does things that are reprehensible (torture, aggressive war, spying on Americans, assassinating Americans) and where I can regain the independence of thought, word and deed that I've always cherished in my life.

    Hope that helps.

Wow. Now, that's a good lead. Thanks.

I was just yesterday thinking how great my Son's swim goggles would be for my purposes if they were polarized, tinted and a bit more stylish. At least, they'd stay on in the surf. Couple that with tying them somehow to the collar of the shirt and even if I get pummeled by a wave and they wash off my head I could recover them.

    Great stear! Thanks.

    Well said LF.

Get the Costa Wave Killers-Polarized wrap arounds that come pre-drilled with a good lanyard. They will replace the lenses for $60 if they bust.

What do you do with your fanny pack while your frolicking in the surf....your not going out there without protection are you?

And what I really want to know is where do you find a pair of glasses to fit you properly? The way I see it it you have an IQ that rivals Albert Einstein.....with the vast amount of knowledge that is crammed inside that cranium that sits on top of your neck......you must have a head the size of a pumpkin....no wonder your glasses are falling off....you have a big head

Here is some advice......take your own.....if you want the swelling in that melon you call a head to go down just vote the right way next month......according to you that makes you uneducated...then you will stop stretching out your glasses
