There's an online fishing game called Trophy Fishing Online. It started in June, I think, and is starting to pick up steam a bit now that member suggestions are getting put in. There are free tournaments, and membership is free. It's not an "active" game that you have to pay constant attention to, so you can let it run in the background as your auto-caster tries to pick up fish at the location and depth you choose, with the lure, line, rod, reel and boat of your choosing.

how do i get the rod and reel if i only have $5?

seems like a good idea, but it still needs some work. i have been playing around i and recieved the rod and reel from my uncle but it doesnt end up in my tacklebox. so i havent been able to fish yet. kinda like waiting on the dock with your boat running and still waiting for your crew to show up.

I had mail somehow, and got a jon boat, cheap gear...now I can not find how I read my mail...

Cool, glad to hear a bunch of you seem to be enjoying this. It's kind of crack-addictive for me, too. In case any of you haven't figured out how to start fishing, you have to go to your cabin page, and scroll down about 2/3 of the way. You should already have a jon boat, and a rod and reel, plus some basic lures. You just have to hit the drop-down menus and equip them.

Basically, weigh in everything you can up to your 25 fish limit for a while, build up your cash and your levels so you can get some stats to use. Get big lures once you are moving up - big bait gets big fish. I saved up until I got the $375 boat, it moves you to the spots a lot faster.
