I went to the hearing on the Vineyard last night. It lasted from 5-10:30pm.
57 people from all walks of life got up and spoke against it. 16 spoke for it.
Not in My Back Yard= NIMB Your darn right. Wind turbines belong in the desert
In California ,Nevada, Colorado's east slope and Kansas . Why should we sacrifice Nantucket Sound and Horseshoe Shoal to a factory on the water.
This is about money, out of our pockets, out of our sound, going to Cape Wind.

Here in Gloucester, Varian... a high tech company is planning two wind turbines that will dwarf any exsiting one. 538' tall they will tower above any structure in the city. Having turbines offshore may not be such a bad idea. There was a time that the gulf states objected to oil rigs offshore. Now many fishermen know that the structures attract fish, try taking them away and the fishermen will protest. Perhaps the offshore wind farm will do the same and create a habitat for fish.

Not as bad as you think
I live directly in the shadow of the MMA and their new turbine. My initial reaction was oh crap man I don't want it NIMBY
A buddy sugested maybe I would even come to like it...yu gotta be kiddin me
Well time has passed and I can honestly say I don't hear it or see it anymnore it's just part of the landscape. Fact is it's so darn high unless you walk around looking for a seagull to poop on you it's not really noticable.
Now back to reality and trying to figure out my electric bill...I can originate mortgages all day long but dang I can't figure out that bill just the part that says amount owed
Agree and I love the sound..but a bunch of it is not navigatable (spelling) and so how about putting them up where you can't go anyway and mark one side green and the other red. Light up at night and fog and help show the way
It's just a thought but we really need to do something
I know you don't want to hear this but as soon as that thing is installed it will become one hell of a fishing platform to troll past, chunk to or jig near. Not unlike the oil rigs off the gulf, fish will attract and feed around it and personally I would rather them offshore than in my backyard
Satan That sounds like an offer. I'd make a deal with the devil to have a gas hose at home and at the dock, you know my own brand name. Sjog's SureFire Fuel
Yeah, I kinda like that
