Still smiling!

I haven't posted any kayak adventures in a while because, well, nothing worth talking about really. I mean, IC4M and I are still living what sounds like the beginning of a ramp joke. (This blind guy and and old man get into a kayak today....) But, we're still out there having fun. (Even if all we are catching is Croaker that my cat wonders if it can survive on.) And we are learning. (At least I am, I'll let IC put in his own two cents as I know he will when he reads this) We have gotten to the point where we can take seperate boats at times, and that is something special for me. It is not easy for me to put my trust in someone on the water, ask anyone who has fished with me and they will tell you that I can be anal about where I draw lines, but IC learned how to guide me along (some by watching my wife do it, some by just hanging around me.)

Anyway, just wanted to let you all know that we are out here on the water, giving it our best shot, staying safe, and still smiling!

Smiling is what it's all about! Always pleased to hear from you and your yak partner.
And... yes cats can survive on a diet of croaker fish!

Lack of sight can't keep local surfer off board

Thought it was a good story, there's a video to go along with it. The vid has good audio.

Keep living it up and making memories on the water. You can't beat the peace and the energy you get from the sea.

while I'd like to be out there with you guys, on a bigger platform, in blue-er water, chasing bigger fish (Oh God the hunger for that feeling of screws chewing water beneath a deck you can stand on..... ) I have to admit there is something special, if not magical, in our little Coaker creek.......

There's an Osprey nest on the marker at the mouth of the creek. I don't know if I would notice it so much from a powr platform, but from the yak..... Well, I know where we are when I hear the birds start complaining. And it has gone from the momma being anxious about our presence to the chicks cying, and now they leave the nest when we come by. (They do this when other traffic goes by, but I'm not so sure anyone notices.) IC4M may look for the lights of the marina as we come in after an evening of fishing, but these are my sirens of the home port.....

The people at the ramp don't mind waiting while I grope around for a strap on the trailer that is 3 inches from my face while launching/retrieving (and most of them don't realixe I'm blind).

Boats and Jetsis power down when they near us so as not to rock our world......

When other boats pass within voice range, a greeting is passed......

Maybe we only catch Croaker and get an occaisonal "Ray Ride", while we know that there are some pups in ther area that we just haven't found at this little creek......

I hope this explains why we don't have much to post up, but I think it's got some bragging rights.

Glad to hear you are out there and having at it. Croaker is a whole lot better than getting splinters from the dock wishing instead of fishing. I just love it when you post up. Inspires the hell out of me to be grateful for all I have in my world. Thanks and keep them comming...
