    Stbd side over heated

I thought I posted it as a new topic. Ooops, I posted it as a reply to another thread. Anyway, I toasted the Stbd side of my outboard. I must have sucked somthing up in the intake because as fast as the warning horn went off I shut it down. I wouldn't start after that. I ended up floating and padling for about two hours before Sea Tow could help me. When I got back and took the motor apart, it had melted the Stbd side diaphragm shut and stopped all water from cooling the Stbd head. There is scoring on the piston walls and the temp sensors and water hose ends also melted. I think she's done. I will take off all the new parts I put on and sell them to try to re coupe some of the loss. I wont be back in the water this season ! I am going for a repower instead of rebuilding the 22year old motor. Maby a Yamaha 2000 or newer? Any sugestions?

you should have gauges, those alarms go off when it is to late,if you are running at speed when things happen.
