Standing By to Stand By
Hurry up to slow down. Wake up and go to sleep. T- minus and on hold...
Damn! This winter is dragging... Spent forever in the yard or so it seemed. Have the boat stocked with staples, junk food, beverages. ER is clean. Electronics all good to go. Water maker and eskimo purrin like kitties. Cockpit freezer full of freon and doing its freeze thing. New portable freezer ready to accept what I throw its way.
Tackle all good to go? Four x 80w... Check! Six x 50w... Roger on that! 6 x 30... Yepper! 2 x 30w and 4 x 25... Indeed! 6 each 8, 10, 12, 20 spin... Bingo...
Oil is fresh and plenty extra aboard. Maps checked, waypoints plugged in, papers in order. Spare everything all stowed... Cleaners by the metric ton stashed away. Stockpiles of dvds, batteries, Bambi meat, and peanut butter cups all neatly hidden.
Camcorder, stills, bats, sd cards, cables, computer all ready.
So what am I doing here? Sitting on hold. Chubathon 10 could start in days or perhaps it will be closer to a month. I just don't know. Boss is busy. Too busy to schedule himself to come over and whop on the pocket and its pointy inhabitants...
I wanna go fishin!
Will keep you posted. When I know, you will know...

Might be Gods ocean but thats my "pocket"
...
I dunno... The boss can confuse me some days. I emailed yesterday just a status update of projects basically all done. He answed back "When are you going?"
"Ummmmm. Kinda waiting on your schedule sir unless you want me just to run over then wait there?"
"Too busy to schedule now... Talk later..."
So thats where we sit... Part of my job is to see that we don't waste money. Just running over and sitting in a high dollar slip for what could be weeks doesn't fit well in that part of my job description. I guess I'll give it a couple weeks . See if he gives me dates or I may just go ahead over and wait... At least save a couple weeks of dockage.
I only need two days to finish loading, get ready, and one to get there...

Went down to the boat today and looked at it for a while. Got bored and ran all systems again. Then gave her a wash... Crammed more Bambi and bait in the pit feezer and looked at the boat some more...

Is this the Bahamas we're going over to wait for him at...I'll ride over with you and walk back when he gets there.....not T&C..I don't want to run into Low Tide with Lagringa over there....

Just the plain ol Bahamas. We fish at Chub Cay but need to do our waiting over in Nassau which for the lack of a better word is a dump with very few fish to get got.
The marina at Chub is gorgeous but they don't have enough power generating capability to support a full house. What they have done is raised dockage so prohibitively high ($5 a foot a day+++) that they only have a handfull of boats stopping by and they can meet the wattage needs.
Nassau is expensive ($1500 a month) but thats cheap compared to the $6500 or so at Chub. What it means for us is that we'll only be at Chub (Where the fish are) when the boss is there to enjoy it.
The up side is that he plans on comming down every other week and sending us his family as guests on the other weeks for about four days at a time... If it all works out we're looking at getting twenty four days of fishing in...
